Halden is a small workshop of six people. We design and build chairs, tables and storage in solid wood, one piece at a time, for homes that plan to keep them.

Six people, four benches and a lot of shavings.
Mira Halden opened the workshop in 2014 with one bench and a commission for six dining chairs. The chairs are still in use, and so is the bench.
We have grown slowly since. Today we make around four hundred pieces a year, all in the same building, and we still answer every email ourselves.

One maker, one piece
Each piece is built start to finish by one person, who signs it underneath before it leaves.

Materials that age well
Solid oak, wool, paper cord and clay. Nothing that peels, flakes or needs replacing in five years.

Repair before replace
Every piece can be taken apart, sanded, oiled and reupholstered. We still repair chairs we made in 2014.
